I have to mention that I won fractalforums annual art contest [link] with the Fractal Wasp Troll image I am a very proud owner of the mug that was the prize, here it is with some of its friends... My 3D printed mandelbulbs and my winning image for the 'Mandelbrot Tribute Contest' @ DA in the background.

And today I found out that my Fractal Wasp Troll image was one of the 25 selected for this years Benoit Mandelbrot Fractal Art Exhibition. [link]

where did you print your 3D fractal and how? i mean, did you import it to a 3D program first or print it directly from mb3d? Thank you in advance. :D

Long time ago... It was someone on fractalforums who got the voxels from Daniel White who printed the for me.
There is a thread about it somewhere on fractalforums.com

my best and sincere congrats!! :))
(and this still provokes a new idea: maybe you could distort one of your mandelbulber fractalscapes to transform it into an anaglyph image (there are programs for that)... and then putting a reflecting mug (or sphere) of steel or chrome or polished white porcelain in thev right position - the fractal would be visible floating on the mug's surface:))

Great idea... It is possible to get 3D images directly from Mandelbulb 3D, I have actually tried to do one with this image but I was not happy with the result, I have to try with different settings.
Thank you Fabio!
